This relationship to country governs a group or individuals place in the complex structure of law, ceremony, culture, responsibility, status, marriage, income-- their culture (Lewis , 2000).

AimLand clearing is starting to become extensive in Australia. The long term effects of land clearing include loss of habitat and biodiversity, plant and animal extinction, soil erosion, increased salinity, reduced water quality and weed invasion. (Trees for life, c2014).
To help combat this, we can educate students on how to support and care for our Australian environment. This assists in developing and reinforcing connections with the local community and offers a fun and rewarding experience. Ways to achieve our aim is by:

The next 4 steps address how to implement revegetation in schools
Step 1:
Making it a priority to hold a meeting with all appropriate stakeholders and the sustainability action plan team.
Time frame: By Week 4 Term 1 Responsible: P&C President, principal, parents, teacher and students |
Step 2:
Going on the brainstormed examples in step 1 it is now time to implement them
Responsible: Sub-committee, P&C, teachers, students, local council and organisations |
Step 3:
Now that you have obtained the resources, money and approval, it is time to start the planting
Time frame: Week 2-3 Term 2 Responsible: Administration, teachers, students, parents |
Step 4:
By creating posters, writing reports and participating in assignments/projects students understanding of revegetation will be amplified (Step four can be implemented throughout term 1 and 2)
Resources have been attached for a in class assessments which can be adapted for ALL students
- You may want to get students to create posters to promote what the school is doing as well as reinforcing their learning
- After the excursion has commenced, get students to write a reflection or report on what they did and how it helps the environment
Time frame: From Week 8 Term 1
